Things I Once Thought Mattered

Today I was cleaning my room and found a few old medals and certificates. I looked at them for a while and just laughed 😄.

I remember how much these things used to matter to me. I studied hard, stayed up so many nights, cared about marks, competitions, winning something. Every little achievement felt like, yeah, I’m getting somewhere.

Maybe that’s just childhood innocence. You believe the things adults tell you are worth chasing. and you just do it because everyone around you makes them seem important.

But looking at all that today, I kept thinking about how much time I spent trying to impress people I barely knew. People whose opinions somehow felt so important back then. Most of them probably don’t remember me now, and honestly, I don’t remember many of them either.

So today I threw all of it away like garbages. Funny, the things I thought were a waste of time back then are probably the things I value more now.

And yeah, I’m still figuring out what I actually want. But I don’t think that’s a bad thing. No one really has figured out. We just understand a little more about what matters to us as we go.
